This is a heart tugging story...a dear friend of mine had this son who had this girl who was pregnant who was in need of a place to stay....sob story was stated that they were moving into town with no money no food no place to go and just needed a place to get on their feet for a short while...they will find a job as soon as they could and start paying rent and pay the deposit as soon as they were able too.
They moved in no money down...with the intent to pay 100 a month until they got a job and could put the bills in their names...good deal...100 was to cover the bills...they rarely paid this...so we were quickly going down the hole in debt with our credit cards covering for this couple who moved in...the man got a job and the girl was to come down and help me by just being down there to talk to me while I cared for my two children...not that hard to do the least they could do for free room and bills...right? she only came down for a half hour to an hour instead of the whole day like verbally agreed to...it was a job for her to do since she wasn't working why not? but she never stayed very long...then the guy couldn't keep a job said he got fired for stupid stuff that he didnt even do or he quit cause he was being mistreated by the boss or a coworker and no one would listen to him...uh ok...what ever...then they end up buying a computer and different luxury items and we were like OK so you can afford to pay rent now its 250 a month and you need to get bills in your name...they again rarely paid the 100 a month if that...and once the bills were in their names a month or two later they were turned off and thats when we found out our dryer was on the renters electric..because I washed laundry and when I went to dry them...the dryer didnt work...we thought the dryer was broke but then found out their bills were turned off...so again we had to put the bills in our names so things wouldn't freeze up there as well as they wouldn't freeze cause we cared...
Then they had their baby....SRS got involved because the child at 3weeks old had a broken thy bone...due to a "fall off the couch" then later a mistake of "throwing the child up in the air and catching them to get rid of hiccups and accidentally dropping them on the floor"...uh ya no...sorry I tolerated non payment and a lot of excuses and sudden growth in luxury items for themselves...instead of being paid rent and deposit as promised...uh ya not going to do this anymore...being walked on too much...get out...
Eviction noticed placed...they move out leave the house totally trashed...there is trash everywhere and torn up furniture and hole in the wall from him punching it rotten food in the fridge bleh! and food spilt in the fridge as well...litter box from an animal we were unaware of them having a chinchilla? or flying squirl I cant remember which...but it was a pet that made a huge mess up there...the friend of mine though was kind enough to help clean up the damage that they did to the place...which was very nice...they had no idea they were going to do what they did and was so sorry...which it kind of dampened our friendship for a while...but I have cooled off and became friends with her again...and am real sorry for what happened to them and their baby...but I couldn't support them anymore we maxed out our credit cards to care for them and they were so ungrateful for what all we did do for them to help them "get on their feet" they refused to even try to get on their feet due to whatever reason they had at the time...
So ya lesson learned? or not!
On to the next renter
These are the experiences as a Landlord I have experienced. They are as I remember them happening. They are not in order, and will not revile the renters identity due to privacy of renters identity. I respect them even if they didn't respect me and my husband. I am jotting these down for memory purposes, a laugh to the public, to show the public its not what it seems when you become a landlord as well as for the renters out there to cut us landlords a break we are doing our best. Enjoy!
Continued Introduction to the blog
These posts are probably going to be chopped up and not in chronological order. They will just be what comes to mind sorry for any repeats I will try to delete these as I see them lol. I hope to educate the public as to how hard it is to be a landlord especially given such instances as these written on this blog. If you can't believe this stuff, thats on you not me...these again are how I remember things happening with each renter as I remember them...and again identities will be anonymous because even if they disrespected us as Landlords I respect them and will keep their identity secret. So laugh, get disgusted, get surprised, get all sorts of different emotions when reading what some renters do to landlords especially when these said renters are friends of the landlords...yep its not what you think it will be and you usually end up no longer friends in the end, or a complicated friendship afterwards...anyways...enjoy none the less reading about our experiences comment if you share similar experiences or even worse experiences so I dont feel like I got it so bad lol...thanks
